The historic farmhouse parlour seats up to 18 people. The tiled stove, old stone walls and wild oak parquet floors create an atmosphere you feel the moment you walk in.
On the ground floor, the living room connects directly to a fully equipped kitchen — ideal for shared family meals after a day in nature.
On the top floor, a 5-metre panoramic window frames the peaks of the Wölzer Tauern. Morning mountain air, evening sunsets — all from the sofa, with a pellet stove glowing behind you.
Aged wooden beams, restored 19th-century furnishings and high-quality wild oak parquet floors create an atmosphere between authenticity and modern comfort.
The Detox Almhaus sits at the end of the Pusterwald valley — far from through traffic, mass tourism and urban hustle. This is where the road ends. And everyday life pauses.

Wir haben das Haus als 8 Erwachsene für ein Wochenende gemietet und hatten mehr als genug Freiraum und Platz. Die Ausstattung ist super und uns hat nichts gefehlt. Das Check-in war unkompliziert und super hilfreich für uns, da wir am späten Abend ankamen. Man hat dort seine Ruhe & gleichzeitig auch die Freiheit gemütlich zu grillen und sich bis in die Nacht draußen zu unterhalten. Definitiv der perfekte Ort zum Detox'n!

Great place set in the mountains. It's really awesome if you like to detox, hike and enjoy the nature. The house is old but is in parts newly renovated and had everything I needed. It was a wonderful stay and I can recommend it to everyone. Martin is a very friendly and helpful host.

Martin heeft een geweldig mooi, groot en schoon huis op een prachtige locatie. We hebben heerlijk kunnen barbecuen en hebben prachtige wandelingen in de omgeving gelopen. Een geweldige woning om tot rust te komen.
Wir haben die Zeit sehr genossen – Kinder konnten alles in Ruhe erkunden und das es kein WLAN/Fernseher gab hat sie überhaupt nicht gestört. Die Umgebung ist wunderschön und wir kommen sehr gerne wieder.

Super her- und eingerichtetes Bauernhaus in Alleinlage. Toll für eine Gruppe oder bspw. zwei Familien. Die Küche ist top ausgestattet und es hat von allem ausreichend für eine grosse Gruppe. Wir waren zu acht und hatten eine super Zeit. Wir würden die Unterkunft sofort wieder buchen.

Martin is a great host. The house is located in a remote area, perfect for tech-detox. The house is huge, clean and has everything you'd possibly need to have a great stay. If you like mountains it's perfect – wake up, wear shoes and start hiking. We had a great time there and will be back.
Das Haus ist echt super zum Entspannen und Abschalten. Ich kann jedem und jeder empfehlen in dem Haus Urlaub zu machen und digital komplett abzuschalten. Die Natur und die Ruhe ist traumhaft.

Wir waren in einer Gruppe von 12 Personen im Almhaus und waren einfach nur begeistert. Im Haus ist genügend Platz für alle. Die Zimmer sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und die Ausstattung in der Küche übertrifft alles, was ich bisher gesehen habe. Es ist wirklich alles da! Die Lage im Tal mit dem Bach in der Nähe ist traumhaft und lädt direkt zum Loswandern ein.
Das Haus bietet ausreichend Platz für 12 Personen und war daher perfekt für unser Wochenende geeignet. Martin ist als Gastgeber sehr bemüht und jederzeit erreichbar, sollte es Fragen geben.

A lovely part of Austria. Close to lots of nice hikes and lakes. The hut is comfortable for a large group, super clean, easy to heat. Nice board games also. Super easy to talk to Martin. Perfect getaway.

Great place for walking, cycling and to unwind. Total privacy as out in the valley with no neighbours. Well preserved authentic features with modern amenities. The Red Bull Ring is easy to reach and it offers peace and quiet after a race day.
A beautiful house in an amazing landscape! A true superhost – friendly, correct, lots of great what-to-do ideas. The typical Austrian house is really fully equipped. Ideal spot for biking (MTB and road), endless possibility of amazing mountain hikes! We will be back!

Through forests, past rivers and small waterfalls, up to a plateau with numerous small ponds. From there the ridge leads to the summit. If anything, you will encounter only a handful of people on this beautiful tour.
A great starting point for hikes to various summits. The hut is staffed during summer months. Tip: set off early for a good parking spot — otherwise long forest tracks must be walked.

After working and studying in 8 countries on 3 continents, I moved back to my beautiful home region in 2018 to enjoy nature and spend as much time as possible outdoors.
I inherited the former farmhouse from my parents and first rented it out in 2019, gradually renovating sections over the years until I carried out a complete overhaul in 2025 to be able to let it in winter as well.
My wife Sarah, who grew up in a mountain valley herself, and I often spend time in Pusterwald to recover from Graz city life. When we are not there, I rent the house so that others can also experience the peace and beauty of untouched nature and enjoy an unforgettable stay off the beaten track.

From mountain farmhouse to retreat — a story of time, change and preservation. The estate known as "Haagenhube" has existed for centuries. It has witnessed hard work and hardship, fire and rebuilding, childhood summers and quiet years — and today it is a place of peace and reflection.
What has changed is its purpose. What remains is its soul.
The estate is first mentioned in the late 15th century; its construction likely dates back to 1479. It is one of the oldest farms in the remote Pusterwald valley and has carried the names Ebenperger-Hube, Ebner and finally Hagenhube over the centuries.
For centuries the farm was a place of simple agriculture and quiet permanence — shaped by work, seasons and nature, far from luxury and distraction.
In 1952, a major fire destroyed all buildings on the farm.
The old 19th-century farmhouse burned to the ground — along with the barn, farm buildings and the old chapel.
What remained was the place.
Just two years later, in 1954, the farm was rebuilt — in plain, functional style, driven by community, necessity and the will to carry on.
The reconstruction was not a romantic act, but a pragmatic one: a roof over their heads. Space for animals. Space to live.
This new house became the foundation for everything that followed.
For decades the farm was a place of work — but also of childhood, summers and simple rituals.
Here they milked, made hay, and repaired. Here they ate, slept and laughed.
Until 2002 there was no bathroom and no hot water. Yet for many, this place was home.
In 2019, the house was carefully opened to guests for the first time. Still simple, still raw — but with a desire to share this place.
Not as a hotel. Not as an event venue.
But as something real.
Between 2023 and 2025, the house was thoroughly renovated — with great respect for its history.
The goal was not modernisation at any cost, but careful renewal: more light, warmth and quiet. And at the same time: less noise, less distraction, less speed.
And so the mountain farmhouse became the Detox Almhaus — a place to switch off, pause and breathe.
